Abstract
Making space for queer-identifying religious youthis an Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) funded project, shedding light on youth cultures, queer community and religiosity. There is a lack of empirical research that examines queer Christian youth, their experiences, perspectives and perceptions, with some sources casting religion as automaticallynegative or harmful to the realisation of LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) identity (or ‘coming out’). Rather than assume that sexuality and religion –and in our case Christianity –are separate and divergent paths, the project event explores how they might mutually and complexly construct one another.
