Cookie & privacy information
Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer by websites that you visit. They are used widely across the web to make websites work more effectively, as well as to provide information to the owners of websites.
Strathprints does not use any third party cookies but uses two cookies of its own in order to support users sessions on the system (e.g. to support search functionality) and to support authentication (note, however, that logging in is disabled for all users except administrators).
Users have the opportunity to set their computers to accept all cookies, to notify them when a cookie is issued, or not to receive cookies at any time. You can use your web browser to:
- delete all cookies;
- block all cookies;
- allow all cookies;
- block third-party cookies;
- clear all cookies when you close the browser;
- open a 'private browsing' / 'incognito' session, which allows you to browse the internet without storing local data; and
- install add-ons and plug-ins to extend browser functionality.
You will find further information online for your preferred web browser. The UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) also has useful practical advice on cookies and how users can protect their online privacy.
