Abstract

A comprehensive examination of the published literature details with compelling clarity the generation and re-use of metal scrap in the industries spanning manufacturing industries. Most of the metal scrap is often processed using smelting practices for the purpose of possible reuse. However, scrap in the form of chips along with finely divided metallic scrap is also getting increased attention as a potentially viable and economically affordable as raw material for the purpose of obtaining usable parts or products directly after solid state recycling.
