The paper examines the effect of variations in the magnitude of Young's modulus and ultimate tensile strength of fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) plates on the potential changes in the flexural ultimate load of simply supported reinforced concrete (RC) beams with externally bonded FRP plates in the absence and/or presence of plate peeling. Provided also is a quantitative treatment of the critical values of the FRP modulus of elasticity associated with various failure mode transitions or changes.
