Abstract

This article investigated the regularities of the transformation of the modern city environment. It considered the periods of planned construction activities, strict compliance with building standards, spontaneous adaptation during the periods of recession in the rate of development, as well as the consequences of the introduction of private initiatives in the process of renovation. The methodology of the article employed the theoretical vehicles of urban morphology, modeling and open databases. Within this article, the structure of the city is understood as a result of the interaction of natural and anthropogenic components.
