Abstract

Link Adaptation is an adaptive radio link technique that selects atransport mode, from a set of predefined modes of varyingrobustness, depending on the channel quality. One of theparameters that has to be defined when considering the applicationof Link Adaptation is the updating period which indicates howoften a decision is made on the transport mode to use. This paperanalyses the Link Adaptation performance for various updatingperiods under different operating conditions affecting the channelquality dynamics.
