Abstract

Transformative Servicescapes and Consumer Vulnerability (2020-2022) was a two-year project funded by The Leverhulme Trust and based at the University of Strathclyde. Our case study organisation, Glasgow Women’s Library (GWL), is a library, museum, archive, arts and community space. The project explored the role of physical space in contributing towards positive transformative experiences for those who make use of its resources. The project expanded on this theme to gain an in-depth understanding of many other aspects of the organisation, from organisational culture to partnership working. The project looked particularly at how service spaces have the capacity to transform the lives of those experiencing vulnerability.
