This project is an examination of methodology training provided to PhD students at Higher Education Institutions in the UK and an appraisal of methods used in completed theses. It is investigating current methodology training provision and mapping this onto trends of methodologies used by students. Key facets investigated include the aims and objectives of these programmes; their structure and scope; mandatory aspects and assessment methods. This project will collect information on these to compare and contrast them across institutions, and also to review the libraries of completed theses at a number of institutions in search of patterns, themes and trends for methodology.
