Abstract

The retrieval of sperm from the body of a recently dead man for later insemination has raised profound ethical issues about which there is no consensus, there being permissive (1) and (2) and restrictive views (3). The supportive opinions nonetheless offer suggestions for regulation of this activity that respect ethical constraints and have influenced the creation of legal frameworks.
