Abstract

Anodal transcranial direct current stimulation (+ tDCS) and 5Hz anodal transcranial sinusoidal stimulation (+tSS) were applied to the motor cortex of one subject who displayed enhanced physiological tremor (EPT). The effects of the interventions on the subject’s tremor were evaluated using intermuscular coherence (IMC). Direct current stimulation enhanced the tremor and 5Hz sinusoidal stimulation reduced it. The inhibitory effect of the tSS was also shown to be dependent on the current intensity. This short pilot study suggests that transcranial stimulation to the motor cortex can alter tremor in EPT.
