Abstract

Radiotherapy given in combination with gene transfer is a promising approach for the treatment of cancer. However, progress in this field depends upon achieving the selective expression of therapeutic transgenes in tumours. Therefore, radiation-inducible gene promoters have attracted interest because they may enable temporal and spatial gene activation.
