Abstract

While CH ‥ Li interactions are implicated in the solid-State structure of trimeric dibenzylamidolitium in contrast to those of its dimeric complexes, spectroscopic studies on their coloured solutions linked to predictive MO calculations, provide firm evidence for such interactions, with colours being due to benzyl → Li charge transfer in low-association species.
