Abstract

Four bonds in total, two NH and two CH bonds, have been cleaved from a neutral secondary diamine through the cooperative effects of a lithium alkyl–zinc bisalkyl coalition aided by N,N,N′,N′-tetramethylethylenediamine (TMEDA) to generate a dianionic diazaethene.
