Abstract

Computer Based Learning (CBL) is increasingly being used in Higher Education and the debate continues regarding the value of on-screen presentation options. This paper argues a case for the importance of design in CBL and the screen display offered to students. This paper argues that from the student perspective there is value to be gained from the use of on screen presentation which makes appropriate use of multi-media options. This paper discusses the findings of a study which focuses on the development and implementation of CBL at the Scottish Hotel School within the University of Strathclyde. The findings are presented in support of the importance, from the student perspective, of the use of Multimedia within CBL materials.
