Abstract

Work-related stress is a major cause of occupational ill health, high staff turnover and poor performance. A total of13.8 million working days were lost to work-related stress, depression and anxiety in the UK in 2006/2007.[1] Previous research indicates that pharmacists experience job stress and role overload.[2] In recent years, work intensification, as a result of rising prescription numbers and role expansion, has been linked to increased pressure on community pharmacists.[3] The studies reported aim to explore the factors affecting the work patterns of community pharmacists.
