Theoretical results are derived in this article for possible domain wall solutions for smectic C liquid crystals confined to a concentric circular cylindrical geometry in the presence of an azimuthal magnetic field. A rich variety of solutions can be constructed via a phase plane analysis for the governing equilibrium equation. General solutions are derived from this procedure which allow new solutions to be identified and interpreted in novel terms for both smectic C and nematic liquid crystals. As the magnetic field strength B increases, two critical values Bc1 and Bc2 may occur where the solution may change some of its properties. Domain wall widths are also discussed.
