Abstract

We report the results of a system that employs four small superconducting repulsion coils and their respective niobium force-plates to restore the parallelism of a quartz-rod acoustic etalon, used for the measurement of acoustic transmission across quarter‐wave matching layers into liquid 4He. In the 9-10 GHz frequency range we find up to an eightfold improvement in the number of usable echoes for some quartz-rod samples.
