Abstract
This article discusses the work on how power ultrasound can enhance agitation greatly, especially in constricted spaces. It also highlights the need of deeper understanding and elucidation of mass transfer phenomena under sonication, and thus the requirement for specialised electrochemical devices and methods to quantify mass transfer. It also points out that the use of imaging techniques can help in visualising cavitation bubbles and elucidating high-agitation mechanisms.
