This report confirmed that dwellings built to the most recent Scottish Building Regulations for prescribing construction air tightness are suffering from poor indoor air quality. Trickle ventilators are not up to the task of providing sufficient air change rates even in the small percentage of dwellings where the occupier/s knows what they are and maintains them in the open position. The report concluded with a range of recommendations that have now been put out for consultation.
