Hay, John, second marquess of Tweeddale (1645–1713), politician, was the eldest son of John Hay, first marquess of Tweeddale (1626–1697), and Lady Jean (1629–1688), daughter of Walter Scott, first earl of Buccleuch (d. 1633). From 1654 he was styled Lord Hay of Yester or Lord Yester.
