Abstract

The Theory of Collaborative Advantage, an established theory of collaborative practice, and another separate but related stream of research concerning design principles for the transfer of collaboration theory into practice, are considered in the light of an EU funded project that aims to build a simulation for learning collaboration competences. The Theory of Collaborative Advantage is not naturally suited to simulations as it is explicitly not deterministic but elements of the theory were extracted and reframed for this purpose. The design principles were considered for insights into how the simulation might contribute to a learning experience.
