Abstract
Comments on the Canadian Supreme Court ruling in Rankin v JJ on whether the owners of a commercial garage owed a duty of care to a passenger who suffered a catastrophic brain injury in a road traffic accident after accompanying a friend who stole a car, which was unlocked and had the keys in the ignition, from the unsecured garage. Reflects on how the Scottish courts might approach such a situation.
