Abstract

In addition to the clear emissions reductions benefits of investing and deploying CCUS networks in the UK, and the need to ensure that UK industry can decarbonise in a competitive way, a key focus in policy deliberations and debate has been on the employment that could be supported across the UK economy. This brief examines the potential employment impacts associated with the emergence of a new CO2 Transport and Storage (T&S) industry, which could draw on and play a key role in transitioning existing capacity and supply chains associated with the oil and gas industry.
