Abstract
Three out of five people in the UK are expected to be caregivers at some point in their life. Although caring for someone can be hugely rewarding, there is a large body of research that highlights "carer burden", carers' unmet needs and negative consequences arising from this for the health and wellbeing of caregivers. There is an increasing body of technologies that can support formal and informal care givers. This high-level horizon scanning research report aims to provide a broad understanding of these, seeking specifically to identify digital solutions – both services and tools/products - currently available on the Scottish and UK market to support caregivers; and to discuss whether these solutions are aimed primarily at formal or informal caregivers.
