Abstract
In this issue, you can read about CELCIS's work to increase permanence for looked after children. Permanence Orders, which have been in place since 2009, offer more stable and permanent placements than before, and are making a real difference to the lives of our children and young people. I have asked CELCIS to work with experts such as the British Association for Adoption & Fostering, The Fostering Network and others to look at permanence, and how to reduce unnecessary delays in care and permanence planning and decision-making. This work, flowing from the work of the Looked After Children Strategic Implementation Group, will be combined with direct support to every local authority over the next few years to help make this happen.
