Abstract
This presentation was delivered by Nina Vaswani, Research Fellow, at the ‘No Offence to ‘Neds’: Exploring public perceptions and media reporting of young people involved in offending’ on April 29. At this event, Herald journalist David Leask who discussed his views and experiences in newspaper reporting of youth crime and led an interactive panel session that discussed, debated and queried the latest research into media coverage of youth crime and explored these trends against an emerging shift in the media portrayal of young people.
