Literary linguistics: Open Access research in English language

Strathprints makes available Open Access scholarly outputs by English Studies at Strathclyde. Particular research specialisms include literary linguistics, the study of literary texts using techniques drawn from linguistics and cognitive science.

The team also demonstrates research expertise in Renaissance studies, researching Renaissance literature, the history of ideas and language and cultural history. English hosts the Centre for Literature, Culture & Place which explores literature and its relationships with geography, space, landscape, travel, architecture, and the environment.

Abstract

Collective processes involving neutrinos in unmagnetized and magnetized electron–ion plasmas are discussed. It is shown that the ponderomotive force of the neutrinos can create inhomogeneities and magnetic fields. The nonlinear coupling between the neutrinos and the plasma is attributed to the weak Fermi interaction force. The relevance of our investigation to the inhomogeneities and the primordial magnetic fields in the early universe, as well as to the anomalous absorption of neutrino energy and to the origin of super strong magnetic fields in supernovae explosions is discussed.
