Abstract
Over the last quarter the emerging Asian economies have suffered crucial blows to their economies. The Tiger economies have experienced a turbulent time in the currency markets while Japan has seen the collapse of Yamaichi and Hokkaido Takushoku (the fourth largest stockbroker and tenth largest commercial bank). Despite the uncertainty in Asian markets the US and Europe continue to grow with no signs of inflation becoming a severe problem.
