Abstract

This paper analyses the relationship between social capital and a social enterprise promoting local, sustainable economic development in the South West of Scotland. In order to avoid getting caught up in the debate regarding the definitions of social capital, this paper focuses on what social capital does, rather than what it is (Coleman, 1988).
