Reflections on the home setting in hospitality

Abstract

This article builds on an ongoing debate regarding the nature of hospitality management education by adopting a social scientific approach to the study of hospitality. It does so through focusing on the home setting. Major themes from studies on the private home are described and their relevance to understanding the traditional commercial home suggested.
