This paper reports on the design and implementation of a software platform for a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) for advanced control testing and data quality assessment. The platform can be integrated within an existing control structure, namely the plant SCADA system, with the purpose of providing tools for the implementation and testing of sophisticated control systems and data quality analysis for plant wide operation. The platform is being implemented and tested at a Scottish utility’s wastewater treatment plant, where several control algorithms are under research
