Abstract
Synthesised by refluxing the amine adduct [Me3Al · (PhCH2)2NLi · HN(CH2Ph)2] in toluene/THF, the title compound has been structurally characterised by X-ray diffraction, and the methane elimination/amide insertion processes involved in its formation have been modelled theoretically through a series of ab initio MO calculations.
