Abstract

This book provides a user-friendly introduction to emotion-focused treatment, presenting PE emotion theory and the basics of the approach in an organized, streamlined fashion. Furthermore, in the 10 years since Greenberg, Rice and Elliott's (1993), Facilitating Emotional Change appeared, PE therapy has continued to develop rapidly: The theory has become more clearly articulated; the treatment has been applied to new clinical populations (such as PTSD and borderline processes); more has been learned about the original six therapeutic tasks; and new therapeutic tasks have been added.
