The Strathprints institutional repository is a digital archive of University of Strathclyde's Open Access research outputs. Abstract

This chapter presetns an overview of some of the varieties of Early Modern English divided into functional varieties, geographical varieties, and discourse/social varieties. These are not exclusive categories as the factors of function, geography, social class, and medium potentially interact.
