Abstract

All network infrastructure is limited by resource availability, and this limit tends to be lower for wireless networks. Network congestion caused by more demand than available resources can lead to increased latency and jitter or even packet loss, which may result in dropped video frames or other artifacts that are unacceptable to a broadcaster. Dynamic “quality-on-demand” (QoD) using network APIs allows for prioritization of particular devices or workflows to protect live-to-air or critical links.
