Abstract

Fourier Ptychographic Microscopy (FPM) is an imaging technique used to overcome the space-bandwidth product, a fundamental measure of the information contained and limited within many conventional optical systems. In comparison to standard brightfield imaging, this technique produces high information content images with a resolution improvement that can be more than 10 fold. Currently, conventional methods of light microscopy are used as a diagnostic procedure for investigating head and neck cancer. This project aims to develop an FPM system, making use of the frequency information present in both brightfield and darkfield imaging, capable of observing large areas of tissue sections with a significantly higher resolution. This poster demonstrates the progress on the system's development and describe future work to be completed.
