Abstract
Remanufacturing provides significant economic and environmental advantages; however, its broader implementation, particularly among Independent Aftermarket (IAM), faces two main challenges: insufficient access to comprehensive product information and the difficulty of selecting the most effective End-of-Life (EOL) strategies, including remanufacturing versus recycling. This paper introduces a novel solution that addresses these issues by integrating domain-specific Digital Product Passport for Remanufacturing (ReMake DPP) with a quantitative end-of-life optimisation model. The ReMake DPP establishes the data framework and system architecture necessary for capturing and delivering critical product attributes. %%The optimisation model utilises this data to inform component-level decisions, The decision framework will enable different algorithms to be integrated to create different KPI, enhancing profitability while accounting for environmental impacts. This collaborative framework facilitates data-driven decision-making, mitigates operational uncertainties for SMEs, and establishes a clear pathway for scaling profitable and sustainable remanufacturing.
