Abstract

This visual report explores how digital technology can empower people with care experience during transitions, such as moving to university. It presents concepts developed through participatory design, focusing on digital tokens for proving eligibility and accessing support without repeated disclosure of personal history. The report illustrates the challenges faced by care-experienced young people and proposes principles for normalising, automating, and empowering transitions. It emphasises the importance of relationships, choice, and seamless support, advocating for digital capabilities that trigger required assistance and protect privacy. The report aims to inform the development of inclusive, adaptive systems that support positive experiences for care-experienced individuals.
