Abstract
This submission from the Digital Health & Care Institute (DHI) presents a vision for next-generation primary care in Scotland, focusing on the transformation of service models through digital innovation. Drawing on extensive co-design work with citizens, professionals, and industry partners, the report outlines opportunities to move towards integrated, person-centred care supported by digital platforms, data sharing, and new workforce roles. It highlights the need for scalable infrastructure, interoperability, and citizen empowerment, and recommends a shift from pilot projects to systemic, demand-driven approaches that align with national priorities and support sustainable improvement in primary care deliverycitefunctions.
