Abstract

Millimeter-wave undulator has the features of short undulator period, a large beam aperture and fast dynamic control compared to the permanent magnet undulator. This paper presents the research activities on millimeter-wave undulator (mmWU) at ABP group, Strathclyde University. Short sections of mmWU operating at 94 GHz were designed, manufactured, and measured. To achieve a high equivalent magnet field strength, MU requires a high power, where gyroklystrons were proposed as the drive sources.
