Abstract
Remanufacturing, an important driver of the circular economy, has significant challenges that restrict its growth, especially for independent remanufacturers. These issues encompass demand uncertainty, variability in product quality, manual operations, and lack of product data. This research at the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS) tackles these challenges by focusing on the development of a Digital Product Passport focused on remanufacturing "ReMake DPP” designed for high-integrity sectors. This research explores data sources in OEM business systems, defines essential data sources for remanufacturing, and provides a framework for data interoperability. The proposed ReMake DPP aims to optimise remanufacturing processes, enhance product quality, and promote a more resilient and sustainable circular economy.
