Abstract

This report explores the preliminary results of the LGBTQual+ study, particularly the emerging themes identified from the analysis of focus groups conducted with 34 participants across the UK and the US. LGBTQual+ is one of five projects funded by the Royal Society of Chemistry and the Science and Innovation Network under the LGBT+ Inclusion in STEM initiative. The project is focused on developing sector-wide, cross-disciplinary, international understandings of, and best practices for, engaging with qualitative and mixed methods approaches in exploring and improving the experiences and retention of LGBTQ+ people in STEM.
