Abstract

In this paper, we reflected on the idea of ​​legacy of major sporting events and, in particular, three aspects of social legacy: education, human and social capital and sport. The potential benefits for the resident population is presented as a field that requires increasing attention, especially by politicians and event promoters. However it is noted that they are not fully examined the empirical foundations of assessment data such potential.
