Discusses the proposals of the Family Law (Scotland) Bill 2005, that was presented to the Scottish Parliament on February 7, 2005, including the measures bringing changes to: (1) the occupancy rights of spouses under the Matrimonial Homes (Family Protection) (Scotland) Act 1981; (2) the bars to, and grounds for, divorce; (3) the courts' ability to take account of fluctuations in the value of matrimonial property after the relevant date when determining financial provision on divorce; (4) the parental rights of unmarried fathers; (5) the financial rights of cohabitants; and (6) the family law rights of same sex couples.
