The objective of this book is relatively straightforward but quite ambitious; namely, to identify the value added of modern telecommunication services. More specifically, the focus is on the development of valued-added services for next generation networks (NGNs). It is acknowledged right at the start of the book that this is an emerging area where many issues have yet to be resolved and uncertainties remain.
