Abstract

Nuclear power has never been at the very top of the agenda of national politics in Britain. No national election campaign has mainly been fought over nuclear power. Public protest about nuclear power has only had relatively muted expressions. Protest marches have been relatively small. Overall, the influence of the conflict on British politics has been arguably negligible, particularly if one compares it with other countries of the impact of the British peace movement.
