Abstract

The switching strategy determines the way messages visit intermediate routers. Existing evaluation studies have resorted to software simulation to assess the performance of switching strategies. This paper conducts an extensive comparative study, by means of analytical modelling, of three well-known switching strategies, namely circuit switching, pipelined circuit switching and wormhole switching in hypercubes.
