Abstract

The compounds 7- oxa- 2[A] 6 - thia- 1,5 - diazabicyclo- [3.3.1]nonane-2,2-dione (CsHIoN203S) and 7-{[2- (2,2-dioxo- 2[A] 6- thia- 1,5,7 - triazabicyclo [3.3.1 ] non-7- yl)ethyl] sulfonyl }-2[A]6-thia - 1,5,7-triazabicyclo [ 3.3.1 ]- nonane-2,2-dione (CI2H24N606S3) are produced when taurolidine is reacted with an excess of methylene glycol. The saturated six-membered heterocyclic tings in both compounds adopt distorted chair conformations.
