The chapter argues that law involves a calling not simply to use one skills wisely in the service of clients but to contribute to access to justce. It then seeks to explore how legal education might help inculcate such a concept of calling in the moral character of law studetns, given the results of a study into student motivation for entering the legal world. Drawing on evidence from existing law clinic students it argues that the most effective way is through clinical experience combined with reflection on that experience and describes a new degree which attempts to integrate this process throughout legal studies.
