Despite the commonness of dysarthria in stroke populations, intervention research is scant, especially relating to the psycho-social effects of dysarthria. Groups, which provide opportunities for natural interaction with a range of communication partners, discussion of experiences, problem solving and peer support, may be an appropriate management format for people with dysarthria and their communication partners.
